Role of project champion

Project management and leadership have long been in existence. As the nature of projects became complex over time, so did the roles of project managers and leaders. There have been a number of advancements in the field of planning and control techniques, but still a number of projects fail to achieve the final goal. According to a recent survey, approximately 20-30% of projects fail to achieve their targets. One reason for this is that the project scope is not well defined when the project kicks off, which leads to cost and time overruns.

To reduce the project failure rate there has to be an efficient and effective project leader or project champion. Thus, the role of project champion has become more detailed and complex at each stage from project initiation to project close out.

While numerous project methodologies exist today (agile, iterative, traditional ad-hoc), all follow the basic five stages of project life cycle namely – initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and successful closure. Since the role of project champion has become more detailed and complex at each of these stages, gone are the days when the project teams were composed of just people with certain specific goals and once the task was performed the task handed over to the next team (also known as the waterfall approach). Now companies form teams from different departments to facilitate completion of projects by just one team rather than tossing the project from one team to another at different phases. Thus, cross functional team work became the need of the hour in various industries and the need for cross departmental communication became an important task for the project champion.

Once the project is handed over to the project champion, the first thing is for him to understand the project scope himself and discuss potential loopholes. The next stage is resource planning which is of utmost importance because with cross functional resource planning he has to select the right number of people. The project champion has to be very cautious and particular while forming the team as he needs to see what particular skills people from each department bring to the team, if they can be the leader in their area of expertise, if they gel with the other team members without any force or friction, and at the same time the person should be influential in his department to get work done in time and avoid any delays and bottle necks. Once the team is formed, the project champion should discuss the project scope and establish a charter with the team. Considering each member’s point of view and having a healthy discussion can lead to the formation of a well-defined project scope and charter that is clearly understood by each team member and hence will help avoid time over run. With the charter and scope clear and resources allocated, the project champion’s next task is to perform activity sequencing or the work break down structure. Once developed it should be discussed with department heads to avoid resource conflict as the teams are formed cross departmental. The team should also be involved in risk management discussions which can help prevent potential time and cost overrun. These steps will lead to a solid foundation to initiate the project.

Once the project is kicked off, the project champion should maintain and present the project reviews to the team and act as the link between the team and the client or senior management. Thus, he should have the abilities to manage the team as well as stake holders. To keep the team enthusiastic and moving, the project champion should empower his team by showing faith and motivating them. The best way to motivate is to have achievable goals from the project, reward the top performers, and try to get the comparatively low performers up to par. He should have performance appraisals, compensation, and promotion criteria tied to the work. Non-monetary rewards are remembered longer in comparison to monetary rewards which are short lived. There should be clear and concise communication flow between the teams and also from management to the team. Another way to keep the team involved in the progress is to develop a dashboard which shows movement of the project through various phases and where it stands in term of time and success rate. While I was taking a class on project management, my professor, Karen Brown, defined it as A3. I found it a very helpful tool to track the project success. If tasks are veering away from schedule, this can be seen quickly and the required corrective actions can be taken to avoid overruns.

Once the project is completed successfully, it should be handed over to the client with a clear presentation and demonstration of the project. If the project is accepted by the client, the project should be closed. A successful project close out should include closing of the project files, developing a document on the learning of the projects positives as well as negatives which will help the team understand what went well and what didn’t so that it can be improved upon in the future. The project champion should recognize and reward the top performers and hold a successful big project closure party.

Some of the key characteristics of successful projects include:

  • Motivated project leader who has the capabilities to empower and motivate the team. Have excellent communication skills at the same time be accountable for his work and a good planner
  • Clear development of project scope and charter to avoid any loopholes in the later stage of the project
  • The team members should be completely involved in the project and should believe in themselves and the project
  • Management should not setup unrealistic expectations from the team just to please the clients. There should be achievable results set for the team
  • There should be a good mix of expertise on the team
  • A dashboard for the team to monitor the movement of the project (A3)
  • A reward and recognition should be linked to the performance of the team members

Sarkar Raj.....

After a tiring and grumbling day of work decided to go for a movie....started the search for ticket online and finally decided to catch up 10:45 pm show of Sarkar Raj...at Fame Inorbit(Malad).... since we booked ticket at last moment...what else cud have been expected got the tickets of 1st row from the screen and So was lucky to see Aishwarya Rai closely...Finally after some adds and delay the movie started at 11:00 pm...With Mr. Bachchan making the first appearance....
This what i felt for the movie....
First things first: A huge round of applause to Ram Gopal Varma. The director has redeemed himself after the failures of NISHABDH and RAMU KI AAG. This here is vintage Ramu at his best, no doubt about it. Just goes to show that one should stick to what one is best at. And no one uncovers the underbelly of crime and politics as succinctly as RGV.
SARKAR RAJ is a thriller to the core. It may have the background of power politics but when it's time to reveal his cards, Ramu pulls out his 'Aces', one after another to dish out a gripping fare. The final 'Ace' he delivers at Sarkar's house is mind numbing! To reveal more would be a crime. Just goes to show that it's not only the ones bred in the city who are power hungry, but also those in far off villages! Hence, he does full justice to the tagline: 'Power cannot be given. It has to be taken'. And on this line rests the plot of SARKAR RAJ, a sequel to SARKAR! Yes, it also takes a fresh look at the tradition versus modernity debate.
Anita Rajan (Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan) is the CEO of Sheppard Power Plant. This international company wants to set up a power plant in rural Maharashtra. Only the Nagres can help. A meeting is facilitated by Govind Namdeo (Hassan Qazi) an aspiring politician. Sarkar (Amitabh Bachchan) sees no sense in this project and dismisses it outright. But Shankar Nagre (Abhishek Bachchan) thinks otherwise. He feels that this power plant will be a huge benefit for the villagers in the interiors of Maharashtra. After convincing his father, Sarkar, he mobilizes support from the villagers and goes about the business with Anita. But things are not as easy as they seem. Shankar meets with obstacles, one after another and as the plot unfolds, you realise how the characters are used as a pawn for a completely different game!
The background score by Debashish Mishra is commendable. Even when there are no dialogues being spoken, Mishra creates the mood, which speaks a thousand words with his music, as the cameraman, Amit Roy, takes astute angles. The sepia tone throughout the film maintains the mood of this exciting fare. To my mind, there is no standout performance.

Some People......

Some people are just there for you when you need them the most. They go out of their way to help you in every possible way. You haven't even known them for long. Guess they just know you are reaching out for them. They really care! And you haven't even bothered to stretch your arms enough, but they are always with you. Truly are some angels sent by the lord. In their presence, the world seems like a better place to live in.
On the other hand, you find some people who go out of their way to hurt others. They keep taunting, finding faults or even worse back-stabbing you. They think that making a song out of it or saying something mean in a cheerful way is gonna make you laugh. How mistaken! They just tell you what you're doing wrong and repeat it over and over again. They assume you are stupid, the evils just want to bother you. Such is the world! Its the striking contrast of humans around you, including you......
Strange! Its you and only you who makes the choice between the former and the later intentionally or unintentionally...

A Boy's Thoughts in School Days

She was gorgeous, awesome, aesthetic , her voice mesmerize my heart ,her eyes make my stunned, dumb.I started gazing at her all the time in my class-though in secrecy.Truly speaking,I have no difference with other guys ,I mean , back bencher's of my school who do the same thing. hough sometime I think I am in love with her but can I tell her the truth. No I can't.Why?

Because I have heard the most brilliant student of our school has got a slap when they propose her.But I must admit i don't know what was happened exactly.Does she want somebody totally different?Does she want somebody who run against the flow of the stream? Or does she want someone who will make her laugh?I don't know what she exactly want but I think I can fulfill her dream.

Just one time I want to say you "In my heart I feel you ,I see you I love you".But why the hell god doesn't give me the power to do it.Or am I just an introvert, stupid boy who can't share feelings to his fellow school mates.or why can't I just leave her alone?

I was confused by this dilemma.I can't find anyway to get rid of this.I can't see any ray of hope to be at least a close friend of her as because I think she hates boys like me at the core of her heart.

That was not a auspicious day.But a doom, dull morning of a winter.I was on my way home from my maths tution, when I saw her weeping and slowly walking along the road.I rushed to her and asked her what happened? She told me two boys who were on bike just took purse away from her..and ran sped away.

I was taken aback.I then told her that if possible lets go to police station to lodge a FIR.

To my astonishment she said "No Rohit leave them.I know they can go to any extent if we stand against them".

For the god sake you know my name.I just can't believe it. I was feeling as if I was in heaven

She said Why the hell I wouldn't know a boy's name who spent most of his school time looking at me and she took my hand in her hand. I'll never forget that moment .

Don't Let........

Don't Let someone become priority in ur life, when you're just an option in their life........
Today I’m very sad probably because it’s a big let down for me. I ’m so shocked that I cannot express it in words and neither feel the pain that is cuffing my heart every minute. ‘Where did I go wrong?’ This is the question I repeatedly ask myself. But there is no answer that comes back to me. I haven’t certainly expected such a treat from you. The only thing that I understand is that I’ve got hurt by you. This is something that I had never expected, at least from you my dear friend......

I just want someone to understand me, my condition, my suffering that you have caused me. The person whom I least expected would gift me anything such. Why did you play with my heart, my trust, my faith and my understanding? Don’t you feel for me that you hurt and bruise me time and again? Why??
After being together, today I’m left alone. A loner in spite of being surrounded by people, a loner with a lost heart, with broken faith and broken trust, wandering on mindless thoughts, a loner who has lost the objective to live and has no reason to die. I don’t even know if a person like you should be punished or should I bear this pain like I’ve borne all these years, your love, your failure and success, your fakeness, your truth!!!

I know I am to be blamed because time and again I’ve trusted you, tried to rectify you, trusted your lies knowing that it’s a mistake I’m committing, have supported you like a pillar. Throughout I’ve pulled you out of testing times.
But I couldn’t help because I trusted you, liked you like hell was that my biggest mistake----- as all the while I was trusting you, loving you, you were just pretending your love trust and friendship for me! Today you stab me all over, misunderstanding me in every thing I say, treating me as if I don’t exist for you, looking at me like I’ve doomed your life.
I haven’t expected anything from you neither physical support. But I thought that in mind we’re bonded together. Alas! That is the biggest lie I’ve been living with.
I don't have anyone to turn to. God I just trust you because I know are there and will always pull me out of the biggest crisis of my life. You can see all that I’m going through and can hear all those words that are being spoken to me. If anywhere I go wrong please let my conscience feel it and let me rectify it. Whenever anyone does any wrong to me give me the courage to fight back.
Please don’t make me weak, God!

From a Professor's Point of View......

An insight into the mind of your average professor.......
The bell just rang, awakening me from my pleasant daydreams. 'Good god,' I thought 'I have to go for that horrible class. The hateful Engineering lectures!

Idiots who think they know everything and think that everyone else is plain stupid. They think no end of themselves, the alien beings! Its all a farce!

Standing up when the professor comes in and showing some respect just because she has the attendance register and the marks in her hand. Pretending to pay attention in spite of having no interest or inclination in learning whatever the 'poor thing' is saying. Trying not to yawn when her eye is on you... What hypocrites!! They think the professor is just dumb. She doesn't know anything at all!

Then again there are the first two rows, the geeks and the nerds (what's the difference? The geeks are slightly more intelligent. The nerds are just nerdy!) They actually pay attention and take notes. Unfortunately, they also ask profound questions to which thoughtful answers must be provided to satisfaction.

Also, there is the species that comes in 15-20 before the lecture is about to end just so that they get marked present when the attendance is taken. They will hang around right outside class for forty-five minutes and get dead bored but they will not enter the class till the eleventh hour. It's so exasperating. I hate going for lectures.

"I don't want to go to class," I whined. "But you have to," said everyone around me. "Who will teach those brats if you don't go? Then we'll be stuck with them for another year! Just go na, we understand it's horrible but it's only an hour, and you can always go late!"

CHOCOLATES------Yummy

When I racked my brain today for something to write about in my blog, I felt like eating a chocolate cake instead with lots of icing and very little of cake...

Then, I thought, why not write about chocolate ??

Chocolate has always been a favorite comfort food with almost half the world's population...

God bless the African tribe who first discovered the rejuvenating effects of coco beans on sheep and goats which grazed on them...

I remember, when I was a child, I managed to take in 'Complan' only becoz it was in a chocolate flavor, I'm delighted it is the same with millions of other children across the world who are all enlightened souls about the benefits of chocolate.
Chocolate is available in a variety of flavors and combinations today, and is inspiring cooking connoisseurs to come up with a more enjoyable variety of edible chocolate. So, from cakes, toffees, eclairs, to pastries and swiss fondues, we are, and will continue to be blessed with an entire range of delicacies in chocolate.......

Chocolate has come to signify everything that is worthy of enjoyment in life. While medical journals publish commendable reports about the anti-depressive ability, dentists for long have been frowning down on the erosion of tooth enamel, but now, dark chocolate has been found to be beneficial for certain heart ailments, and we also have chocolate skin wraps in beauty spas, CCD have done much to boost the popularity of chocolate by blending coffee with chocolate in their menu......

Chocolate is slowly replacing traditional Indian sweets as appropriate gifts during festivals and other occasions so successfully, that shops selling Indian sweets have come up with variations of traditional Indian sweets with a chocolaty flavor, to sustain their sales. It has become a mandatory token of celebration during birthdays, anniversaries, milestones in our lives, weddings, and acquisitions. Can you imagine Valentine's Day with only roses and no chocolate ?? !!! I can't imagine it to be so...

With so much of research and innovation being attempted in the uses of chocolate, can anyone deny the omnipresence of chocolate in our lives ??

Christmas Time-----Down The Memory Lane....

Few days back as i was returning from office......walking down the road... a tune caught my attention...it was a familiar tune i used to love as a kid.....the very melodious christmas tune..."Jingle Bell Jingle Bell Jingle all the way Santa clause is coming along riding on this way"...so i turned back....and saw Santa walking behind me....i stopped and looked towards him...and gave a smile...seems he liked my smile...and in return I got a gift....a choclate.......as he disappeared frm my sight....i was pondering on something...yes my childhood days incidence.....thts what i m going to share now.....

As a kid one day I returned home, grumbling that Santa Clause comes with gifts but I never saw him… my mother came up with a quick word, "he visits those kids who are not naughty, who study well and obey their parents." The little brain inside my head was in a dilemma, "should I be naughty or behave well?" I thought. Christmas was round the corner and after a lot of pondering I asked, " mummy, if I behave well, will Santa come?" "Certainly", said my mother.

From that very moment I was a good child, eating whatever was served, completing the homework on time, no talking and playing pranks in school..

On the Christmas Eve…. I inquired, "did I behave well?" mom said, "Santa would decide". That was the first Christmas eve when I slept late waiting for Santa to arrive.. My mother told me that he would arrive only after I sleep. I went to bed and was soon asleep…into the lands of dreams....

Next morning I woke up to see a Polly bag full of chocolates kept beside me… I was very excited to see that….

I was running around the house shouting in elation ….

SANTA CAME ! SANTA CAME ! SANTA CAME!

I made all my friends believe my tale….{I m expert in doing tht....}

It became a regular feature every year, on Christmas I would find a gift on my bedside and my friends tried hanging socks, writing letters but for no benefit….

By the time I was 12 or 13 I realized….. its not Santa who comes but it was mother….

She kept on denying this fact for a few more years but then, I knew it all….

Thanx Mom....for all the goodies and love and caring....nothing can be compared to tht..u r the best mom...u had to handle a mischevious kid like me.....Miss you a Lotttttttttttt.......

Hope my Santa keeps visitng life long.....i hope my children also will love my santa a lot....[heheh]

till then.....
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL...

You made me laugh when I cried so hard----Dedicated to my best frnd

You made me laugh when I cried so hard
You gave me bracelets to cover my scars
You held me close when I was so cold
You offered a comforting hand to hold

You picked me up whenever I fell
You showed me heaven when I was blinded by hell
You answered my calls in the darkened night
You gave me the reasons to hold on and fight

You rescued me when I was drowning in pain
You placed me back on the right path again
You loved me forever and stayed by my side
You entered my heart as an angel to guide

You may not be with me so much anymore
But I know you will leave open a beckoning door
I miss you so much but I'll fight till the end
I love you so much my Bestest friend.

CCD A lot can happen over coffee.....

Yups Cafe coffee day have the perfect one liner for their business "A lot can happen over a coffee" and trust me a lot does happen. Every time you go there you'll find the place packed with people from all walks of life but majority of guys/gals belong to age group 17-29 years, Aha!! thats the catch, you see people who belong to this group are the one going through different phases of life. For instance teenagers becoming adults, High school to college transition, Love stuck couples having those long chats and finally those getting married types.

I am not targeting a group here but its funny how the one liner goes well with the folks I have mentioned above. Let me explain that "lot that happens over coffee" one by one . First lets go with the teenagers, who have recently joined college. Mostly they are from streams like commerce, science, arts, Engineering and Medicine. Ok back to the topic now, modus operandi of typical teenagers, they'll come in groups and groups only. Each group is like a different cult following its own rules, you like same soccer team, have similar taste for movies etc. Their discussions too are influenced by their ideologies and in the end they'll leave in a similar fashion as they came in.

Next place goes to love birds, you'll find them sitting in some corner of the cafe, it's very unlikely to find them sitting in open(where ever one can see them). Maximum number of incidents happen to these folks, there they are enjoying their beverage and suddenly he says some thing to her that pisses her off and she leaves like Katrina(hurricane), but relax most of the time they are like miscible liquids, which when mixed are harder to seperate even through reverse osmosis. These people also exibit high brain activity during this interlude because the number of ways they communicate and understand simply baffels me.

Last but not the least group belongs to those who are about to be married or have been married for like a couple of years. I have baptized this grop as "Inert group" like the one in periodic-table. It has been named so because they are through every thing that is happening around them, above mentioned cases etc. These guys/gals will simply order some thing and stare at each other periodically. We do see behavioural changes when they are in group, guys will talk among themselves and the same applies to gals. Soon after some chit-chat nostalgia will take over and one of them will get up buy a cupon for QJAM and select K.K's "Pal yeh hai pyaar ke pal, Pal yaad ayee ge kal......."

Difference Between Laughter And Happiness

You might be laughing but it does not mean you are happy. According to me "Laughter is momentory while happiness is forever." So if you laugh most of the times in the day, it does not mean you are happy, but if you do not laugh at all you might be the happiest person of the world . The above quote might be appearing like wiered but thats what i think. (Mind u theres a diffrence between Smile and Laughter)...

Everyone knows how to get laughter, Read jokes, go out with friends....do some fun. Ofcourse its nessecary to live life but very few peoples know how to get happiness. Having seen people and there reactions around me I have found out lil bit on happiness and found out how people achieve happiness.

First of all we should understand why we need happiness? According to me we need happiness to live most of the life and enjoy each and every moment of life.... no matter how much worse our conditions are.

Secondly we need to know what is happiness, Happiness is just an emotion, a good feeling, a feeling that keeps us satisfied most of the time. A feeling that saves us from sorrow, a feeling that fuels our life. A feeling which gives us a hope to live in this world of non perfect people.

Now everyone wants to be happy, so to achieve happiness we need to do one thing, simply feel satisfied with what you are contented by God. Actually human mind constantly generates desires. If our desires get fulfilled it makes us happy and if not it makes us sad. So if our one desire gets fulfilled a new desire borns and we start working to achieve that desire. So life is like a game, get your desire fulfilled (it can be anything, a car, a big house, a beautiful wife/husband or anything) and that makes us happy. The more we have worked for our desire the longer happiness stays and if we work a lot to fulfil our desire but if it ends in nothing it makes us sad. The harder we work for our desire (which is not fulfilled) it makes us more sad .So human life is all about filling desires. If one desire is fulfilled/rejected another desire is born and similary our life gets happy/sad moments accordingly.

So a normal person's life is filled with sorrow/happiness (depending on how much of his/her desires are fulfilled and how strong his/her desire was). But there are some special person(As i call them Exceptions....and Exceptions are always there) who just stay happy no matter if their desire gets fulfilled or not. These are the people who have strong faith, (faith on god, because we can't have faith on human being because no human can be perfect...and again few exceptions are there....i have faith in god and one of my deraest closest sweetest frnd :) ). So people with strong faith in God enjoy True happiness. A Happiness that never ends. The stronger your faith is on god, the more happiness you will enjoy in your life. These people's mind generate desires like any other person, but they have more stable mind. They do work to fulfil desire with faith in god. They leave the result on God. They just do their work and do not worry about result in their life. So if their desire gets fulfilled it makes them happy more than anyone else as they enjoy it as wish of God and do not worry about loosing wat they lost. But if their desire do not get fulfilled, it does not make them sad .They accept it as wish of God. They accept every bad thing happen to their life as wish of God and such bad things does not make them sad. According to them our life is Prewritten and we cant do anything about it .We just need to have faith in God and do our deeds. We are born to do something good in our life. We are born to change other people's life. We need to understand true meaning of life and start working . This does not mean that you just keep faith in god and stop working to acheive your dedires and goals....Faith in God along with Hard work is desired to achieve SUCESS AND HAPPINESS....

These are my thoughts, Your comments are welcome....

How Poor Indian Rich People Are.....

Last night i was out with friends for hangout. We were roaming in city's best area . We den stopped car near a juicebar and ordered juice. We were waiting for juice in the meanwhile a kid came near to us on old bad looking bicycle. He was not well dressed too.

He stopped his cycle near us and asked us to purchase Agarbatti. We just said what we will do with agarbatti. He replied he has to pay his school fee so please buy it. It was for Rs. 10 and upon asking how much will he get he replied he will get Rs. 2 profit on it. Well what a big deal...we said we will buy it no problems....We bought 7 packets frm him...so he made a profilt of Rs. 14..a small amount for us but a huge profit for that guy....

Then we just started kidding with him (i know it was wrong at my part) one of my friend asked him, hey dude you should be making lot of money from this right. It's a posh area who will deny to buy your agarbatties, everyone will buy it and you must be making a lot from it.

The kid started looking at my friend's face with little wonder. We just asked what happened . He replied "I tell everyone that i need to pay my school fee so please buy agarbatti from me but peoples rearly buy it."

Upon asking how much money he makes per month. He replied he works for 3-4 hours per day and hardly makes Rs.100-200 per month. He just makes money to pay his school fee, after working so hard (yes its right he makes rs. 200 per month or rs. 6 per day)...

We were little wondering (infact wondering a lot), but we did not believe that kid, thought he must be lying. We offered him a glass of juice, and then thought he might be selling stuff to poor people. We asked him to go to everyone with car and tell them you need to pay school fee and they will most probably buy it from you...

A car stopped near juice bar. We were watching at it , the kid went near the car and told the family sitting in car, he needs to pay school fee....can they please buy agarbatti from him for just Rs. 10...

Just guess what the family inside the car told that needy kid.... They just told the kid "Go away stupid ask your father to pay your school fee.."Then another car stopped , he repeated process , and he also did not buy we were watching all this , he requested atleast 10 people with big cars to purchase from him . But all of them denied ...(yes peoples who own cars who were drinking juice of rs. 50 and probably all of them were millionnaires did not have money to buyagarbatti worth rs. 10).

Now i would like to ask a question......

1) Does the so called rich persons have gurantee that they will stay rich forever ? wat if they lost there money and there kids haveto work like this ?Are not we humans ?Is not our moral duty to help someone who need it (specially little kids)

2) I would like to ask from school , cant they pardon fee(not charge them ) of poor kids? Will it really affect them if they discount fee of 5-10% percent kids who are really financially weak...

3) Can't govt schools improve level of education can't they provide finacial aid to such students.

Ok i am confident about career of that kid. Anyone who works so hard just to keep his education continued will defenately be very successful in future . He will be star of future and he will do much better in education and life than the kids of those so called rich people....who spend thousands of rupees just on tutions..... So these people who said " no " to purchase the kid's agarbatti should just think once again that if they did right by saying "no" ? If we are in condition to help someone then why not can we come voluntaririly come forward and help such students and lead India to bright future....As India's future is current generation and kids.....So the so called Rich People please give it a thought....Help the Needy and Deserving people...

Broken Heart Still Beats

These eyes dreamed you.
This heart felt you.
This soul desired you.
and this life has always needed you.....
So why is it so hardto say what I feel.
To breathe when you'r near.
And to hope for you to lend an ear??
Do you know?
Do you dream?
Do you feel?
Do you desire too, the manner I do??
If you do, say so.
And if you don't.then it's no big deal!!
It's only a blind's dream.
Only an unbridle-heart's desire
It's only.......A dream that shattered.A heart that's broken.

"unko dekhenge to phir se tut jaayenge...na dekhnge to tauheen-e-mohabbat hogi...unko bhulenge to jeeyenge kaise...na bhulenge to naakam-e-zindagi hogi"
so friends I say "A Broken HEART Still Beats!!!!!"

Why do i Love U

Why do I Still Love You ?
Why do I cry
who do I hide
why do I still care
why do I pretend u r there
why do I love you
why do I think you love me too
why do I feel pain
why do I feel like im insane
why do I want you so bad
why do I get mad
why do I miss you
why do I need you
I try to tell you how I feel
but you don't care
so I'm askin you these questions
to see if you know im there!Coz I Still Love U.

A Little Need for Love

Love ......... such a simple plain word but this simple word has done things even greater than acts of God. People have lived and died for this simple word LOVE. Well actually I am not a love hater or anything like that but then why does this love come into our life. A beautiful feeling which if fruitful turns more sweeter but if not then it gets bitter and people tend to do something wrong.

I love someone but then she loves someone else. Is this how love should be. When we love someone, why is it that we do not get the person we love. Well I think I need to think about this? well will update later.....

And She Made The Difference in My Life....

Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Some stay for awhile and leave footprints in our hearts. And we are never, ever the same."
Today I am thankful to God that He has showered me with some wonderful people whom I call as "my good friends"...most of all I thank Him for sending a 'best' friend in my life.
I still remember the day she came and sat infront of me in my college in a boring maths lecture. She did not speak to me and I used to have this thought in my mind,"Man,watta attitude she has....damn why cant she sit somewhere else" .....As days passed ....months flew we became the best of pals...and I am so happy that I met her quite early in my life of college days....
I still dont understand the meaning of a "best" friend.....But I know she is that one person with whom I can spend a day with loads of fun and laughter....one who understands the meaning of my silence........one who sheds a tear when I am sad.......one who is more happier for me than myself.......one with whom I can get pampered and also pamper....one who can give me a solution even before I narrate the problem...one who stood beside me when everyone thought I was wrong......one who gives me that inner strength and confidence......one with whom I can trust on anything ........People generally used to tell us "You are like one soul in two bodies"...shez made that difference in my life....my little sweet angel....my lucky charm
A day had come when I cried as she had to travel miles away from me...But I was happy for her as she was getting a better job option in some city.....
Even today I chuckle when she calls up ....and she says Missing you a lot....that makes me think and i just speak out....ok..i will be in Banglore soon close to my best Frnd..coz i miss her a lot....Miss her (24*7*365)....
I miss those days we had lots of fun...I miss those times we played some pranks....miss those days when we simply laughed for nothing ;).....I miss being myself when I was with u.....I sometimes miss my dearest best naughtiest and most beautiful frnd....
Most of my frnds must have gussed the name so far so no point mentioning the NAME...
My BEST FRND...MY LITTLE SWEET ANGEL

Whats UR Ambition,,,,,,,a common question

Becoming a CEO of Company was never my aspiration... or rather becoming anything wasn’t my ambition at all... it was always the most comfortable answer I had for those perennial… what do you aspire to become? And rite from my schooling… the most common answers doctors and Engineer... never caught my admiration! I remember when one guy... a school kid at that age... from my class... right! Tarun… broke the monotony and answered… “I want to become a police… I want to serve the nation… make the nation free from corruption!”… that was a very revolutionary reply.. at least to me and my class mates who were sinking in the monotony! He received good applause and there I was waiting for my chance…. And my mind busy thinking of an answer that would be appreciated by my teacher! Then on police also became part of the regular answers! And hurray my chance came at last as I was a back bencher right from my school days… the teacher asked me the same question and I had an answer… a very novel answer… I want to become a CEO of Company ... and the class applauded my answer too!! but my teacher had something else in store.. she asked me how are you going to become CEO of Company ? And to be very frank…I didn’t know…. … I had no clue how people became CEO of Company ... and what was the job of a CEO of Company was another question mark! Why on earth did I choose to give out this answer.. I could’ve followed suit… answered police and coolly forgotten it immediately! But I just gave a very stoooopid answer.. I said I’d go to college and study for it …. lol!! The last thing I expect anybody to say today! It didn’t stop there… the teacher asked us to write five steps we would take to achieve our ambition… and that was when I knew what CEO of Company meant as a career…

It was all over long long back! But today again when I’m left with no internship and I sit back and think as to what I’m going to take up as a long-lasting career… CEO of Company still shines before me as a very promising option!! The real thought of getting a job and working everyday… meeting them everyday… doesn’t enthuse me all that much! I rather prefer a very friendly work environment… where even if I’m not allowed to do what I really like... I can at least express my thoughts! May be I’m irresponsible... and this is why the mere thought of work... job irks me so much as today I am a software engineer and not a CEO of Company…….I wanna prove my potentials…..hope I get a chance…and I can achieve what I had dreamt for!

TREKKING

In 1965 Colonel Jimmy Roberts introduced the world to trekking. As a former Gurkha Officer and Military Attaché at the British Embassy in Kathmandu he had spent years of his life walking the hills of Nepal. His idea, revolutionary for the time, was to provide tents together with Sherpas, to guide and cook. Nowadays it is well established; groups travel through the hills, walking for five to six hours each day with all their equipment carried by porters or ponnies; good quality meals are provided along with warm sleeping bags and comfortable tents; the trekker carries a personal pack with camera, day clothing and snacks. Walking for days on end might sound daunting, but actually it is not too difficult, infact its adventurous. The most important attribute for enjoying the trek, is right attitude. I myself have gone for few treks varying frm simple toddler trek to some real tough ones......and believe me its fun.

Trekking often refers to multi-day hiking trips through rural, often rugged territory. Many people who are trekkers engage in longer trips through entire regions of the world, using trekking as a way of getting from place to place. It can be incorporated with a number of other outdoor sports, such as rok climbing or backpacking.
Trekking is different from other sorts of travel for a few different reasons. It tends to be less-structured than other sort of travel, as weather conditions and topography help influence travel plans more than plane flights or hotel availability. As travelers move on foot through often-rural areas, trekking gives travelers an up-close view of incredible scenery. Many trekkers travel through isolated areas, giving them an experience much different than those who travel in organized groups to more-popular destinations. It often allows them to interact with nature, doing anything from climbing a rock wall to navigating across a mountain or entire mountain range.

Several pieces of gear help make trekking more enjoyable. One is a comfortably-fitting backpack. Many trekkers travel for extended periods and need to carry all of their belongings with them. A sturdy backpack can comfortably fit more than 10-20 kilos of clothing and gear. Another important item is sturdy hiking boots. When covering long distances, wearing the right pair of boots can make the difference between enjoying a trip and being in pain. Other survival equipment, such as warm clothing, a first aid kit and a supply of food and water are also very important.

The most important aspect of long treks is right spirit and perfect group coordination.

There are basically wo types of trekking

Full Trekking : Full trek, the Footprints preference means that the group camp in tents each night and retain their own cooks, Sirdar (foreman) and porters. It means that all personal equipment is carried for you, meals are cooked, and you are looked after by familiar staff

TeaHouse Trekking

Frankly speaking as of from my experience Full trekking is more adventurous and enjoying and trekking can be fun iff there are like minded people in the group.

TREKKING TIPS:
  • Trekking is not an adventure activity that anyone can try out. It comes with a responsibility for the trekker to make sure that no hiking expedition becomes a threat to the environment and to the local culture and traditions of that particular region. While taking up trekking of a particular region within India, check out the details regarding the geographical and historical features, followed by the trek route that you are going to cover, the season in which the trails can be followed, details about where to buy essential supplies and keep a note about the local trekking agencies of that particular region.
  • It is recommended that a trekker should take up physical and dental examination before undertaking a trek. The first aid kit that you take with you depends on the length of the trek, its location and the no of people that are taking up the trek tour. Iodine tablets are the best reliable methods for sterlising water for drinking, cooking and washing. Some of the items a trekker requires while trekking on the higher altitude regions in India: a broad- brimmed hat, UV proof glasses, sunscreen that can protect one against the increased solar radiation at high altitudes.
  • Sun Hat, Woolen Beni, Down Jacket, Sleeping Bags , Sun Glass, Sun screen cream, good pair of trekking boots, Runners or sand shoes, rucksac as day pack, gloves, scarf's, plastic garbage bags to keep things dry, torch, personal medical kit, at least 3 to 5 pairs of woolen socks to be used during the trek , 4 to 5 pairs of normal socks, fleece, wind or rain jacket, water bottle, stamina or rehydration powder.
  • To avoid dehydration always carry a water bottle with you and it's essential to frequently drink water.

My next trek will be to CHANDRATAL and BARALACHA PASS.....will post the experience soon

ADULTS ASSUMPTIONS ON TEENAGERS

Everyone knows that throughout life, assumptions and stereotypes are made. Whether they concern age, gender, race, class and so on, it does not matter. Stereotypes are always made in some form or another, some can be referring to positive aspects, while others can be bad. Whether good or bad, stereotypes should not be made, if a person has not met someone, they shouldn’t presume to know them or their ‘type’. No two people are identical and so they should not be treated as though they are. Many people have similar interests and characteristics, but not identical. A common group that receives a lot of stereotyping is the youth of today.

Not everyone, but a lot of people follow the assumption that the youth of today’s society are nothing but bludgers. Youth usually have plenty of negative assumptions placed upon them such as being known as ‘Know alls’, ‘Trouble makers’, ‘Druggies’ and irresponsible. This names just a few of the negative assumptions that youth have placed upon them nearly, if not, everyday. There are also some positive assumptions made in regard to the youth of today, these are statements like they are beginning to understand the importance of education in order to have a chance at a secure future. Youth are very out going and don’t have a concern for tomorrow as they prefer to live for today. Youth have a creative imagination, not just towards art and work, but towards life in general and are willing to learn new skills in order to forward their knowledge, and are being thought of as the future generation.

I believe that all of these assumptions have an element of truth, but in the way of being stereotypes. To certain individuals, these assumptions may be true, but not every youth is a trouble maker or a drug addict and so on. As I said before, everyone is an individual and so should be treated as one, and not just as ‘one of them’. The reason I think this is because I know that I wouldn’t like it if someone treated me the same as other people who are nothing like me. I know that I’m not a ‘Druggie’ or a ‘Know all’ and so I do not want to be treated the way people treat these sort of youths. I know that this is sounding as though I am stereotyping but I am not, I am saying that people do put these groups under headings such as ‘Druggies’ and they then treat them different. I don’t want to be treated different by someone who does not know me and who is only going on what they think of youth overall.

People who place these assumptions on the youth of today are causing problems with the way the youths think they are perceived. If the youths think that people are against them, they may no longer see the point in trying their best, as they think it is pointless, nothing is going to change the way the rest of society see them. This may then cause more of society to think about the negative assumptions about youth rather than the positive ones.

It was also thought that adults, especially parents may have expectations of their children. That parents expect their children to up hold the same morals standard and values that they do. This may not always be the way, as some parents may want more for their children, while others may not really care what is happening to their children and the direction they are heading
towards. Adult expectations can then cause conflicts within families as there may be to much pressure on children to get a good job, to get married and to be successful and the children may feel that these expectations are to high and why can’t the parents just be happy with the child’s choice of direction in life.

Overall, there are both positive and negavite assumptions to be made about everyone. It just depends on whether people are going to believe them and even join in making the assumptions. As you can see, I’ve focused on more of the negative assumptions especially when writing about the impact these can have on youth. This is because the negative points are more obvious to people and youth should be able to handle the positive assumptions every now and then. As I’ve shown, negative ones only end up causing more problems and so should be left alone. If someone is going to come up with more negative assumptions, they should be kept to themselves, most of the youth in today’s society are doing their best to succeed and they do not need people telling them that they are going nowhere. They need positive encouragement, and this can not be in negative assumptions. So remember, if you meet a youth who is trying to succeed, help to encourage them and offer welcomed guidance rather than giving them a negative response.

INTERRACIAL DATING

Many interracial couples are faced with negative reactions from society, making it hard for them to have a regular relationship. They have to deal with disapproval from their own race, pessimistic reactions from family and friends, and not to mention the ignorance of society as a whole. Why is interracial dating so controversial? Is not racism, a thing of the past, or is that what we would like to believe?

People who date and socialize with people of different racial groups frequently experience negative reactions. Many of the disapproving messages come from people of their own racial group. They scoff and make fun of the idea that they are dating someone with a different tone of skin or ethnic background.

According to a poll , many people believe that people should date within their race to keep the unity within the ethnic community. It is like they believe in sequestering each racial group. They believe that every race is uniquely special and should not be integrated. Mixing races would only cause problems.

Probably one of the most hurtful things in life is having to deal with family and friends who are not supportive of the people you truly like and love. One might wonder what may cause family and friends to rebel against interracial dating. Many families may oppose the bonding of their loved one with someone of another race because of political reasons, religious reasons, or family pride. Apparently, many are not able to handle the conflicts and struggles brought on by family and friends. They need sanctions or permission from their parents to see if it is okay to date out of their race. The parent’s influential power causes them to be skeptical and doubtful about being involved in such relationship that they decide to end a perfect relationship in order to make them happy.
Many people who date out of their race are likely to encounter tension and criticism from society as a whole. People tend to have a superficial understanding about interracial dating and forget about the true meaning of a relationship. What temerity is this, receiving constant stares and negative reactions, it is completely rude and ignorant of people.

It is unequivocal that interracial dating is not easy. Is any relationship easy, interracial or not? But dating and marriage are not about pleasing others. It is about being with the person you love and want to spend the rest of your life with. Race is not an issue when love is concerned. What is important is the factors that make the relationship work, such as trust and love, not what is pleasing to others.

Thus, why is society making it harder on them? How many interracial couples have been on the receiving end of many offensive stares when walking down the street? Why do people care? It is an issue of concern only to the couple. If one chooses to date a person of another race, why should society be bothered? It is an issue that needs to be dealt with by the individual people involved. Society is simply wasting there time by interfering with the couples relationship. It is wrong and unethical on their part to make it hard for them. If a couple is in love let them be happy. Those who repudiate interracial dating and feel that it is wrong need to attempt breaking down the color barriers that exist so highly in their lives. We were not put on this earth to criticize people on the way they feel, but to venerate and respect them. If two people can love each other, what difference does it make as to their roots and color.
